Promotional Chocolates That Had Me Drooling

Promotional chocolate boxes are available a dime a dozen but if some planning goes into them, they can become effective marketing mediums for your company or your services. Before you place an order for such boxes, pause for a while, and ask yourself some basic questions.

Why are you giving these away? Is it to say ‘thank you’ or to convey season’s greetings? Is it an anniversary, a birthday, a company celebration, or just a pleasantry you wish to have around to give away when the moment is right? Once you have a decided what you wish to use the candies for then you know exactly who is your target audience.

Consider the Target Audience of your Promotional Chocolate Boxes
Do you wish get the edge over a competitor by bribing the client’s kids? Do you want to lure away a rival’s executive or snoop around for some vital information? If you use a bag of candies in the right way and for the right person, then half your battle is won there and then. My father held a critical post in a large multinational company and I was often the target of many vendors and salesmen. I remember two rival companies who were neck to neck in the bidding process. One of them turned up with such a large box of promotional chocolates that he had following around the house and office parties for many years after that. Needless to add, my father was so amused he awarded the contract to the same, bright fellow.

I often wonder if he would have elicited the same reaction had he come with a standard size container?

Display Sensitivity to the Recipient’s Needs and Requirements
A few years later, I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and that spelt the end of my love affair with candies. Later, another executive from another company came over personally and gave me a small box of candies. When I refused, he explained to me, gently, that these were new diabetic friendly promotional products. My father had tears in his eyes and not only did he get a trustworthy vendor but also a friend for life.

Gifts That Do More Harm Than Good
Before word could spread, other companies inundated me with lollipops and sweets and that caused all of us such pain. It is heart wrenching to tear away candy from a kid’s clutches. Not only that, my father often steered away from such people who were not sensitive to his pains. He figured if the people were not perceptive enough to his pains, they wouldn’t be sensitive enough to his business needs too.

So if you want your promotional chocolate boxes to get you more business then spend a little thought and display some perceptiveness before you gift them away.
